Local arts and crafts exhibitions, Children's games, Guided walks and Viking optical demonstration. Bempton Cliffs in summer is a wonderful place with the 200,000 seabirds making the 400ft spectacular chalk cliffs their home. The festival of seabirds is a celebration that not only offers a magnificent wildlife spectacle but also other attractions such as arts and crafts exhibitions, children's games and a demonstration of telescopes and binoculars from Viking Optical. There will be free guided walks throughout the day and volunteers with telescopes positioned on the cliff top viewing platforms to show you birds such as puffins, guillemots, razorbills, gannets and kittiwakes. Bird bingo and explorer backpacks containing binoculars, bird books and bug viewers will be available for young people to borrow free of charge.
