“Dougie MacLean is Scotland's pre-eminent singer-songwriter and a national musical treasure” (SingOut USA) who has developed a unique blend of lyrical, 'roots based' songwriting and instrumental composition. He has built an international reputation as songwriter, composer and extraordinary performer which has led to concerts and festivals all over the world including New York's Carnegie Hall, Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall and London’s Festival Theatre. MacLean’s songs have been covered by hosts of artists, including Paolo Nutini, Amy MacDonald, Ronan Keating, Mary Black, Frankie Miller and Kathy Mattea. His song Caledonia has become one of Scotland's most popular contemporary songs and his music has been used in Hollywood films (eg Last of the Mohicans), TV Drama (eg BBC's A Mug's Game) and he’s been the subject of three BBC TV music-documentaries. 

Dougie has received numerous gold discs for album sales, two prestigious Tartan Clef Awards, a place in the Scottish Music Hall of Fame and an OBE in the New Year Honours list!

Tea with the Old Queen

This one man show is based upon the fictitious ‘secret’ diaries of ‘old queen’ William ‘Backstairs Billy’ Tallon, one time Steward and Page of the Backstairs to Her Royal Highness, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. During 40 years of service Billy saw and did it all. With discretion and diplomacy he tidied up little Royal mishaps, played Dame in the Christmas Panto, danced with ‘Her Maj’ and even sprayed air freshener whenever Prince Philip ‘let one off’.

Running for approximately 80 minutes with video, The Diamond Jubilee celebrations make this the perfect vehicle to celebrate the monarchy.

The internationally acclaimed, production of ‘ShangHi’ by Cirque Du Ciel, comes to The Spa Bridlington in June 2012.  Originally directed in China by Cirque Du Soleil’s Guy Caron, it has been theatrically reworked to appeal to audiences all ages.

With over 30 amazingly multi talented and skilled performers, this marvellous 2 hour extravaganza, combines acrobatics, modern dance, martial arts, original music and many other traditional and modern Chinese elements in an amazing fantasy adventure, the next generation of Cirque du Soleil

With intricate scenery, over 500 superb costumes and fantastic lighting, this stunning production showcases the skills of not only these attractive performers. But also the world class artistic team who created and devised this brilliant multi media spectacle.

The astonishing routines include Mexican hat juggling, the terrifying yet beautiful aerial silks, and the famous death defying Chinese Monkey Poles, which in all is a dizzying mix of balancing, tumbling, spinning, and brilliant live drumming.  Cirque Du Ciel’s ‘ShangHi’ also features a fabulous and entrancing storyline, which has captivated and enthralled audiences across the world.

Top television comedian Jimmy Tarbuck swaps The London Palladium for The Spa Bridlington.

During his date in Bridlington he will be sharing anecdotes, demonstrating his quickfire wit and thoroughly entertaining the audience in a show which promises comedy for grown-ups rather than adult comedy.  

During the entertaining evening, Tarby will be using photos and video footage to take audiences on a nostalgic trip down memory lane with a wealth of hugely funny stories and anecdotes ranging from being at school and in the same class as John Lennon to playing golf with Bing Crosby.
