Unfortunately you cannot enter on the day. For health and safety reasons we need to make sure that our events do not exceed their venue capacity. We recommend that you enter as soon as possible before the event so that you can secure your place and start your fundraising and training.
Yes, you may run as part of a team; however you must all enter individually for the event you would like to participate in. You can enter more than one individual at any point when registering yourself as long as you have their first name, surname, address, date of birth and emergency contact number to hand. This is so that we are able to deliver their race pack to them on time.
When returning your sponsorship money, please state all the members of your team so they won’t be chased for sponsorship money.
Yes, you can choose to take part in a different Race for Life event. However, if your Race for Life pack has been ordered, you will be asked to pay an additional £5 fee to change your event. This cost will cover the production and distribution of your new Race for Life Pack, which will include your new running number and event details.
If you’d like to change your event, please call the Race for Life hotline on 0871 641 1111 so your record can be updated. The entry fee is non-transferable and non-refundable.
Calls provided by BT will be charged at up to 6 pence per minute. A call set-up fee of up to 6 pence per call applies to calls from residential lines. Mobile and other providers' costs may vary.

The majority of Race for Life events take place in parkland on grass that can make access to the event area and course more challenging for wheelchairs.
Our team of trained and qualified Area Event Managers conduct an assessment on the event site based on "BT Countryside for All Accessibility Standards". These standards consider access to venue, physical barriers, width of routes, ground condition, gradients, etc.
If a site passes these standards then it is selected as "yes with assistance" to indicate that the venue has passed the standard but the individual needs to ensure that they organise any assistance that they might normally need to help them take part in the event. Those event sites that have been selected as "not suitable for wheelchair users" have been identified due to the nature of the site and the result of the assessment conducted.
When you choose your event, a wheelchair icon will appear at the top of the event venue page to indicate whether or not an event is wheelchair accessible. Alternatively you can call our hotline on 0871 641 1111 to ask if an event is wheelchair accessible before entering.

If you need someone to assist you and want to ask a male friend or
relative, this is no problem but he will need to register as a
volunteer.
Children of all ages are welcome at Race for Life events and children under five can accompany you on the course free of charge. However we do advise that under 18s are accompanied by a responsible adult. Some of our events are very busy, involving in excess of 10,000 women, and we ask you to take that into consideration when bringing young children.
In the past participants have asked friends or family who are supporting them on the day to look after their children who are unable to take part in the event. Having supporters to cheer everyone on contributes to the fantastic atmosphere on the day.
Yes, but some of our Race for Life venues are not suitable for prams/strollers. Please take a look at the venue pages for the events you are interested in entering or call our hotline on 0871 641 1111 before entering to check whether the course is suitable for prams/strollers.
Calls provided by BT will be charged at up to 6 pence per minute. A call set-up fee of up to 6 pence per call applies to calls from residential lines. Mobile and other providers’ costs may vary.
We do ask all participants who are bringing a pram/stroller to the event to listen to directions from the Area Event Manager on the day. You will be asked to start the event at the back of the walkers to ease congestion.
Yes, this is absolutely fine.
Women wishing to bring children under the age of five do not have to register their child and they can come along free of charge. Children aged five and over do have to be registered and, don't forget; only girls can take part as Race for Life is a women-only event.
Once an event's capacity has been reached, we cannot permit any more entries for health and safety reasons. There are hundreds of events taking place all over the UK, so there's bound to be another event near you if your first choice is full.
For health and safety reasons, we need to make sure that we have the details of every participant and know exactly how many participants we have on site. This is absolutely essential to ensure we have appropriate emergency and medical cover, as well as water, medals and participant gifts.
If you sign up a few days before your event, you may not receive your Race Pack in time. Please don't worry, you can still take part. On the day, please arrive early and make your way to the enquiries marquee where they will issue you with a running number.
No, because Race for Life is not a competition. Its aim is to gather women together to enjoy taking part in a great event and to raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK.
However, we try to provide a clock at the start and finish line if you'd like to time yourself.
Participants can take part with their dogs at a wide selection of our venues. Please call our hotline on 0871 641 1111 before entering to confirm whether your chosen event allows dogs. Guide dogs and assistance dogs are permitted.
Calls provided by BT will be charged at up to 6 pence per minute. A call set-up fee of up to 6 pence per call applies to calls from residential lines. Mobile and other providers' costs may vary.
We do ask that you be a responsible dog owner when bringing your pet to a Race for Life event. Please ensure:
- your dog is kept on a lead, under
close control at all times, and any usual equipment (muzzle/harness, etc) used
to control your dog is employed on the day
- that your dog has a collar with
a clearly identifiable tag
- you bring adequate water supplies for your dog
to keep them hydrated
- if your dog fouls, please "scoop the
poop".
Yes of course! We always need volunteers to help out at our events, and we are extremely grateful for this support.
If you are under 18 years old, you will be able to volunteer, but you will need someone over 18 to sign you up online. If you will be 15 or younger at the time of the event, you can only volunteer if you will be accompanied on the day by a parent or guardian or as part of a supervised youth group. If you will be 16 or 17 at the time of the event, you will simply need to bring a signed consent form on the day. If you are currently 17 but will be 18 by the day of the event, you can simply complete a registration form on the day.

Unfortunately we are not able to allow mobility scooters at Race for Life events. The health and safety of our participants is very important to us and we cannot guarantee that each type of mobility scooter will be able to manoeuvre all Race for Life course routes.
Some of our most successful events have happened in the rain. Events will only be cancelled if there are severe weather conditions that mainly include flash flooding, thunder & lightening or strong winds. Make sure you are suitably dressed for your event and remember that event venues do not have changing rooms or left luggage facilities.
