The Walk

  • Leave the Sports Centre and head onto Leys Road.  Turn right onto Westgate and continue straight on to reach High Street.  Go around the church green and continue your walk around the priory using either the short or long route:-
  • Faster walkers (long route): walk straight onto Sewerby Road and continue forward until you reach St. Aidan Road.  Next bear right and continue forward along St. Alban Road.  Turn left and then take a sharp right onto Queensgate.  From here walk in a straight line all the way across Brett Street and onto Gypsy Road.  Walk on until you reach the Sports Centre.Slower walkers (short route): walk down Church Walk, keeping the allotments on your right-hand side.  Cross over the road joining onto St. Mary's Walk.  Next turn right onto Queensgate.  From Queensgate walk in a straight line all the way across Brett Street and onto Gypsy Road.  Walk on until you reach the Sports Centre.

Features of Interest

The Priory Church of St Mary in the Old Town of Bridlington, or Burlington as it was once known, is one of East Yorkshire's finest medieval buildings. Dating from the 13th and 15th Centuries, it was restored in the 1870s.
