The Walk

Start from Riverhead, Driffield, walk past the rail station to Beverley Road and turn left.
Enter Skerne Road and pass Bell Mills. Follow the Wansford road by taking a short detour through Skerne Leys Farm then continue to Skerne along the road. In the village walk along Back Lane and then Main Street and along the lane to Wansford.
A beckside path leads to Nafferton, then Lowthorpe Lane and fieldpaths to Lowthorpe and Harpham.
From Harpham more fieldpaths head to Burton Agnes where Rudston Road will take you to the Roman Road known as Woldgate. (This ancient lane is thought to be much older than Roman - believed to have been used in prehistoric times as part of a flint trade route linking Ireland with Continental Europe.)
From Woldgate a bridleway heads past Duesberry Plantation to Kilham Lane where we turn right to Rudston.
In Rudston a bridleway leads from South Lane uphill to Woldgate again. Head eastward to a bridleway which crosses the lane. Here you have a choice of routes to Bridlington.
(1) Turn right towards Carnaby Temple and pass it to descend into the village of Carnaby, then follow the A614 to Bessingby. Take the footpath from Brick-kiln Balk, walk into Bridlington and make your way to the Priory Church and the end of the route, or cross the railway line and make for the beach, to walk through the Old Town to the Priory.
(2) Continue along Woldgate and take the roadside route around the west and north of Bridlington to the Priory and the end of the Ruston Roam.

- When you reach the end of the route, turn around and retrace your steps back to the start
